KwikSIM gives users access to a one-off foreign phone number they can use to receive an SMS verification code without having to expose their private number.

After landing in a new country, travellers often need to find a local SIM before they can access mobile internet.
KwikSIM enables travellers buy and install an eSIM before they travel, so they can activate it as soon as they arrive and step off the plane with mobile internet.

The SMS Number experience was designed around a simple goal: help users find the right number and service quickly, complete their purchase, and receive their verification code with as little friction as possible.
User Flow:
Select provider → Select service → Select country → Purchase number → Receive SMS

The eSIM experience was designed to make purchasing international data eSIMs straightforward, from selecting a destination to scanning a QR code and activating the purchased eSIM.

Select country → Select data plan → Purchase eSIM → Scan QR code to activate eSIM

One primary logic designed into KwikSIM was the wallet refund system. KwikSIM uses a wallet-based model, allowing users to fund their wallet and use their balance across the platform. For services such as SMS numbers, a user may purchase a number but fail to receive a verification code, usually due to an issue with the service provider. When this happens, the user is automatically refunded to their KwikSIM wallet within the next hour, allowing them to purchase another number and try again.
This system is made possible through an arrangement with KwikSIM's phone number providers. When a provider refunds KwikSIM for an unsuccessful transaction, that refund is passed directly to the user. This keeps the user from bearing the cost of a failed service and helps maintain a smooth, frustration-free experience.

As of August 11, 2026, KwikSIM has 2.7k+ users, has completed 13k+ successful transactions, and provides SMS numbers across 180+ countries.
Designing KwikSIM I worked closely with the product and engineering teams throughout the design process, translating requirements into user flows, interfaces, interaction states, and implementation ready designs.
